Malcolm Nattrass, D.M.D.
When describing Dr. Nattrass the first thought that comes
to mind is committment. He is committed to his patients. For 37 years he
has practiced dentistry in Regina, developing skills that would solve people’s
pain problems associated with TMJ and its’ debilitating
illnesses.
Dr. Nattrass graduated from the University of Manitoba in
1969, returning to practice general dentistry in the city where he was raised. He loved
the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the people living in Saskatchewan. Regina was
home.
Speed skating was important while raising his two grown
children Brad and Leah. Wanting to help other youngsters, he became involved in
coaching and volunteered as a coach with the Regina Speed Skating Club for over
10 years. Today in his spare time, you would be able to find Dr. Nattrass on the
golf course, working on his game and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. A
balanced life has always been important to him.
Continuing education is a crucial part of any profession
and very early in his career, Dr. Nattrass realized his interest centered around
the general health of the individual not just their teeth. In fact healthy
gums, healthy jaw joints and an attractive smile were directly related to a
healthy, happy person. Dr. Nattrass has been treating people with jaw joint
problems for over 25 years. There are many people who are very grateful to him
for his knowledge and skill within this area. Dr. Nattrass now looks forward to
making sure these skills continue on to benefit the many people who suffer from
TMJ problems.
Dr. Nattrass is a member of the Canadian Dental
Association, the Western Canadian Dental Society, the Saskatchewan Dental
Association and the Regina and District Dental Society. He is a Founding Member
of The American Association for Functional Orthodontics. He is an Associate
Member of the International Association for Orthodontics and a Member of the
American Academy Of Craniofacial Pain.
Dennis Dodds, D.M.D.
Dr. Dennis Dodds was
born in Lethbridge, Alberta. His family moved to Regina when he was seven years
old. Dennis attended Elsie Dorsey elementary school and Campbell Collegiate
secondary school. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Science
degree from the University of Regina before going on to study dentistry at the
University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
Dennis has worked as an actor, road/stage
manager, theatre impresario, waiter, and grocery clerk. While going to dental
school he was employed as an infantry officer in the North Saskatchewan
Regiment.
Interests include movies, theatre, reading,
the Edmonton Oilers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Dennis is an enthusiastic
soccer player, and has represented Saskatchewan at the National Masters Soccer
Championships.
Dennis married Gayle Schneider in 1996.
Gayle has taught elementary school for the Regina and Saskatoon Catholic School
Boards. Gayle and Dennis have a six year-old named Ceiligh (Kay-Lee), a four
year-old boy named Conner and a two year-old they call Seamus. Ceiligh enjoys
dancing and painting and Connor likes Spider-man and dinosaurs. Seamus has more
exploring to do before committing to anything.
Dr. Dodds joined Dr. Nattrass’ general
dentistry practice in
May of 2006. He looks forward to working within the practice that Dr. Nattrass
has developed over the past 37 years. As Dr. Dodds recently said “he is now
learning the “Nattrass Technique” for treating temporomandibular disorder (TMD)
or disorder of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ)”. Together they will share
their knowledge and are looking forward to working together within this exciting
field of dentistry.
Upon graduation, Dr. Dodds has concentrated
his continuing education in the area of implant dentistry and he plans on
continuing his studies in this area. Dr. Nattrass and he both believe implant
dentistry will be an important part of treatment for some patients with TMD and
dentures.
Dr. Dodds cares about people. It is a
natural fit for these two dentists to work together.
